We all know that Billy Cook is amazing and does a fantastic job with our LMD Professional Development webinars, but at Annual Conference in San Diego he achieved rock star status! Billy was the winner of the “Get On The Beach” member recruitment contest. He recruited TEN new members to SLA! As the winner of this association-wide initiative, he enjoyed lunch on Coronado Beach with SLA President Deb Hunt! Billy also won the award for Best Contributed Paper of 2013 for his entry, ”Peeking Over Cubicles: An Ethnographic Approach to Knowledge Management.” Thank you Billy for being a stellar role model for the future of profession and a leader amongst the newer SLA members and recent LIS grads that we hope will get involved in LMD.
